Website security and backups, for the day it all goes sideways
No site can be made unhackable, and anyone promising that is selling a feeling. Our website security work makes yours hard to get into, quick to notice trouble and fast to restore, with off-site backups we test.
“The entire process was seamless, easy, and incredibly user-friendly. They were patient and flexible with all the changes and back-and-forth... Most importantly, they absolutely nailed the brief.”
A written incident plan says who does what if something goes wrong, and regular restore drills prove the plan still works.

The long read
What security can promise, and what it cannot.
Anyone selling an unhackable website is selling a feeling. This is what we can do, and what we will never claim.
01
Nobody can promise you will never be hacked
New flaws are found in popular software every week, and some are used before anyone has a fix.
So we do not promise a site that cannot be broken into. We make an attack expensive, notice it quickly, and make recovery routine.
That is less exciting than a guarantee, and a great deal more useful.
We make an attack expensive
02
Most break-ins start with a login, not a genius
The usual way in is dull. An old admin account nobody removed. A plugin months out of date. A password that was used somewhere else.
That is why most of the work is housekeeping. Fewer accounts, smaller permissions and two-factor on everything that can change the site. Patches go on a schedule.

03
A backup you have never restored is a hope
Backups fail quietly. The schedule stopped, the files are incomplete, the database was left out, or the copy sits on the same server that just went down.
The only proof is a restore. So we do one on purpose, to a staging copy, on a regular schedule, and write down how long it took.
When the bad day comes, it is a routine we have already rehearsed.

Illustrative: the shape of a rehearsed restore, not a measurement or a promise for your site. Your drill records your own time.

Form spam is a security problem too
A contact form that lets bots through fills your inbox, buries genuine enquiries and can be used to send junk in your name.
We stop it on the server with hidden checks, timing and rate limits. That means no puzzle for your customers and far less junk for you.
Uptime monitoring and maintenance sit beside this service. One tells you the moment the site fails; the other keeps it patched between reviews.
Your website talks to the software you already run.
We pick the platform that suits your business. Then we connect the
site to your booking system, your CRM and your ad accounts, so every
enquiry lands where your team already works.
“Up until working with Casey, we had only had poor to mediocre
experiences outsourcing work to agencies... instead of needing
babysitting like the other agencies we worked with, he was not only
completely dependable but also gave us sound
suggestions on how to get better results.”

Questions
What people ask about keeping a site safe.
What you need to know before we start a conversation.
No, and be wary of anyone who does. We make the site hard to get into, watch for trouble and keep tested backups. Recovery becomes a routine we have already rehearsed. Nobody can promise you will never be attacked, and we won't either.
How often are backups taken, and where are they kept?
Backups are automated on a schedule set for your site, and sites that take orders or bookings are backed up more often. They are copied off the hosting platform to separate storage, so a failed server cannot take the backups with it.
What happens if the site is compromised?
The incident plan runs. We take the site to a safe state, restore from the last clean backup and close the way in. Then we tell you in plain terms what happened and what changed.
Will our team have to change how they log in?
A little. Everyone gets their own account with the access their job needs, and two-factor is switched on for anyone who can change the site. Shared logins go.
How is this different from maintenance?
Maintenance keeps the site updated and working. Security keeps people out and gets you back quickly if they get in. Both share the patching, and many clients run both side by side.
What does it cost?
The review is a fixed price. Ongoing protection is a fixed monthly fee, quoted after the review, based on the platform and how much the site handles.
We handle health or personal information. Does that change things?
It raises the stakes. Enquiry data should be limited to what you need, sent securely and kept on the web server no longer than needed. We review exactly that for sites in regulated industries.
